Z408 cast iron electrode: conforming to GBEZNiFe-1 equivalent to AWSENiFe-C1

Description: Z408 is a cast iron electrode with nickel iron alloy core and strong reducing graphite coating, which has the characteristics of high strength, good plasticity and low linear expansion coefficient. The crack resistance is similar to that of Z308 for gray cast iron, but stronger than Z308 for nodular cast iron. It also has good effect for cast iron with high phosphorus content (0.2% P), and its machinability is slightly worse than that of Z308 and Z508. It is used for welding gray cast iron and nodular cast iron at normal temperature or slightly preheated (to about 200 ℃). Both AC and DC.

Purpose: It is applicable to repair welding of important high-strength gray castings and ductile iron castings. Such as cylinder, engine seat, gear, roller, etc.

matters needing attention:

Before welding, the welding rod shall be baked at about 150 ℃ for 1h.
